Developing accessible hubs for global storytelling
The Transformative Urban Coalitions spur deep, systemic change necessary to reduce carbon emissions.
What We Did
We designed and built a multilingual digital platform that brings the Transformative Urban Coalitions’ work to life across five Urban Labs in Latin America. The site turns complex climate, equity and urban transformation work into an accessible storytelling experience, highlighting local communities, practitioners, research, films, publications and city-level action in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Built as a modular and scalable platform, it gives each Urban Lab room to evolve over time while creating a shared digital home for the coalition’s growing body of knowledge, partnerships and on-the-ground impact.
Goals
Create an accessible, multilingual platform that communicates the ambition and impact of the Transformative Urban Coalitions; showcase the people, stories and city-level work behind each Urban Lab; make research, films, publications and tools easier to discover; and support the project’s long-term growth as new content, resources and outcomes are produced.
Challenges
The project needed to make complex systems-change work feel clear, human and accessible across multiple languages, audiences and city contexts. The site also had to balance storytelling with research and resource discovery, while remaining flexible enough to support new Urban Lab content, publications and project outputs over time.
Results
The platform provides a clear public-facing home for the initiative, connecting visitors to Urban Labs in Buenos Aires, León, Naucalpan, Recife and Teresina. It improves access to the coalition’s work across English, Spanish and Portuguese audiences, and creates a flexible foundation for sharing news, resources, films, publications and evolving lab stories as the programme grows.
